Biography

Donning skinny jeans, t-shirt and black Converse, Amanda Lamb may seem ordinary... but looks can be deceiving.

Amanda was born in 1994 to a home which reverberated with the sounds of music, and had the artistic furnishings of a Disney fairytale; mother cooing lullabies of "Hush Little Baby" and step-dad playing "Fur Elise" from the Baby Grand.  As she grew, Amanda began singing and playing piano and gravitated towards the sounds of Nashville... jaw-dropping and head-bobbing to the melodies of Shania Twain and Rascal Flatts.  As she entered her teens, her musical palette broadened to include diverse mainstream artists like Pink, Fall Out Boy and Sara Bareilles and Indie acts like Owl City.

At 12, spearheading as soloist, she and her choir won the Silver Medal for singing "The Rose" at The Heritage Music Festival in San Diego.  At 13, she wrote her first song called "Last Goodbye," and won Musician of the Year at Corona Del Mar High School.  And at 14, she created her first original piano arrangement, as she sang and played "Ordinary Miracle" from the movie Charlotte's Web, to a raptured audience of 800 at her 8th grade graduation.

In January of 2009, she began working with Moses Toth of Orange County's Artist Development Agency, S1 Studios, where she began a more focused training in the art of piano and songwriting.  She also began studying guitar with Tim Nienhuis (Anna Nalick, One Tree Hill) and vocals with Nashville's Brett Manning (Taylor Swift, Haylee Williams of Paramore) and Studio City's Lis Lewis (Rihanna, Gwen Stefani).

At the age of 15, she had her recording debut with producer Corey Gonzales of S1 Studios, and four brilliant songs were born.  The word "fun" doesn't come close to describing the breath-taking achievement of this young artist.  With catchy melodic hooks, ambient synth lines, driving guitar rhythms, pounding drum beats, and heartfelt vocals, her music compels her fans to dance and sing, long after the song is finished.  At times poignant,  at times tongue-in-cheek, her lyrics capture and underscore the honest questions, humorous insights and longing dreams of every fledgling teen coming into her own.  "Funny Disaster" exposes the cowardice of boys, "Banish Love" condemns love to imprisonment, "About You" prods the shy boy to open up, and "Been There" encourages her peers to be themselves.

Ask Amanda what she wants and she'll tell you, "...to have my music played all over the world."  Judging by the indelible sound of her stellar FRESHMAN effort, she's well on her way.
