Biography
Mike Ogletree is a musician who played drums with legendary 80's Scottish rock bands Simple Minds and Fiction Factory. He is an African-American-Scotsman. In 1956 he was the first African-American to be born in Scotland, the first Black Scot, an Afro-Celt. Son of a US Airman and a Scots lass, he was born and raised in Burns Country; Kilmarnock, Ayrshire, a place frequented often by the Scottish bard, Robert Burns.

- Mike's latest work, inspired by the poems of Burns, borrows from the title of the poet's first publication: THE KILMARNOCK EDITION SONGS CHIEFLY IN THE SCOTTISH DIALECT. Composed, performed and produced entirely at his studio in Brooklyn NY The Kilmarnock edition is Mike's debut as a solo artist. Tracks to watch out for are Red Red Rose, Man Was Made To Mourn and All This Time.Hey. Did you know that the first black man to be born in Scotland is alive and living in Brooklyn, New York? No sh*t!
