Anointed Harmony began seven years ago when the pair (Joshua Powell Jr. and LeeClaire Carlin) met as adults for the first time. Some years earlier their mothers were active in the same church (New Hope Baptist Church of Anchorage, Alaska.) LeeClaire’s family later moved and settled in Plaquemine, Louisiana. Joshua’s family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana so his father could go to the Seminary there. When Joshua’s mother and LeeClaire’s mother realized that they were in the same state they planned to meet. So the summer of 1999 the Powell’s came down to Plaquemine, Louisiana to conduct a musical workshop. The two met during the workshop and hit it off right away. They formed a solid friendship that turned into love and later on in 2001, marriage. In 2003 the couple moved to Columbus, OH and continued in their ministry. Quickly making friends in the gospel community while recording their second project. They have performed at various churches in Ohio. Sharon Woods Baptist Church, First Baptist Grove City, Reynoldsburg Baptist just to name a few. They’ve opened for artist such as Clay Crosse, and the pro athlete Shawn Harper, a former NFL football player who was a guest speaker at Columbus Christian Center. The two ministered in song to the youth of First Church at their Youth Lock-in night. Anointed harmony also participated in the 21st Anniversary Columbus Gospel Fest in 2005. Anointed Harmony was created by God and for God’s use. They continue to sing and give glory to God. They want to encourage believers and spread the good news of the Gospel where ever they go. As God leads them they will keep showing others that there is not only fun in Christ but purpose and joy in serving Him. Anointed to change the world and united with harmony they will forever be Anointed Harmony.
